Old thread MS Phone
« Thread started on: Jan 4th, 2016, 7:36pm »
Does anyone know if it is possible to run a bbc.exe file on an MS Windows phone. I have only tried it tonight and then read the post on sha1. Is this the reason for the fail or do I need to download something to the phone first?

It's always possible, but not necessarily how you first thought. Chin up and try again.

Think I have the answer to my own post. The current Ms OS runs on an ARM based processor from Qualcomm, but later this year They are going to change to the Intel Atom X series which will be x86 based. Hopefully then .exe files for BB4W will work. You never know, this could lead to apps written in BBC BASIC. Anyone know any more?

Hi Ric
Richard is currently developing a cross-platform SDL-based 32-bit version of BBC BASIC for Intel x86-based Operating Systems.
Richard has set up a forum to discuss development. You may be interested in this link to a discussion around the Android (x86) port:
