Email Attachment failure.
« Thread started on: Aug 11th, 2015, 3:21pm »
I have used Richard's program to send emails with attachments without any problem for some considerable time.
Since yesterday, emails were sent as normal but, on sending a test to myself to Windows Live Email, there is no attachment to open. It appears as a huge screen of characters in the body of the text.
My supplier, Virgin Media, have recently changed their system. Could this affect things?
When I look at the sent email on Virgin Media's site, the attachment can be opened but there of no text within the body!
I suspect I have done something silly as usual but any advice? Thanks,

I upset Richard by making a couple of stupid errors whilst in discussion over the above. I think I caused confusion as to the exact detail of the problem.
It was explained I had not added extra quotation marks to send an attachment with spaces in the file name. I understand that should have been used as it is mentioned in the WIKI.
Nevertheless, I have been using without problem for some time and the facts remain. . .
The email and attachment are sent successfully to most email agents, even with single quotation marks, as I have done for a long time. It appears only Windows Live Mail has THIS problem:- The attachment appears as a list of characters in the body of the email. Virgin Media has THIS problem:- The attachment may be opened but there in no text within the body.
Emails opened in Windows Live Mail do not have the attachment. (Text body OK) THIS IS REGARDLESS WHETHER THE FILENAME HAS SPACES OR NOT!
The only other checks so far made is gmail. No apparent problem. Attachments and body available.
If anyone can through light on why this problem has suddenly arisen, I would appreciate comments. VM are of no help.

I know this is not going to help you but I can only say that last June I've sent close to a thousand invitations for a tennis tournament by email. Each mail had two attachments (one .pdf and one .doc document). The filenames contained spaces and I added the required " 's. Most (>99.5%) of the mails arrived in good condition. Since then I've moved to Win 10. I just tried the program again (just one e-mail to myself) and it still behaves OK.
