Hi Richard (et al),
"No personal emails", so I'll comment here. I'm sorry you've decided to close the Wiggio site. It may not suit everyone, but is that a reason to remove it from the others?
I liked the Yahoo group, and I think Wiggio would have been an acceptable substitute. I find it harder (or at least slower) to identify new posts on conforums if it has exceeded the "last 10 list"since I last looked, which is presumably more likely to happen if it becomes the main support site.
Best wishes,
D

Given the nature of your message, don't you think it would have been more appropriate - and fairer to me - to post in the restricted Developers' area? Or indeed to have sent a personal email (despite my request)?

Do I take it that you haven't read my explanation for doing so in the old Yahoo group? Or have you read it but don't agree with it? And anyway I haven't "closed the site", I have closed the group to new posts which is quite different.

How do you think I should have reacted to people emailing me in panic and demanding that I stop the spamming, if not by closing the group to new messages?
The Wiggio debacle would not have happened if the people who volunteered to test it had spotted that its email functionality was so seriously flawed. Not being a user of the email interface myself I relied on the testers reporting problems, yet the complete failure to abide by the listserv conventions was not remarked upon at all!
That doesn't excuse the behaviour of those who flooded the group with complaints, despite my specific prior request that they shouldn't, but it would have made it unnecessary.
I consider your criticism to be utterly unjustified. I believe I took the only action possible in the circumstances.
