xx BBC BASIC 86 Assmbler -> Standalone?
« Thread started on: Sep 8th, 2015, 8:46pm »

I know this is the BB4W Forum but I had a question relating to something "Retro"

Was there ever a tutorial on how to use BBC BASIC (86)'s assmbler to generate standalone code, such as .COM or .EXE(MZ type) for use on DOS?

I had someone on a forum ask if there was a way of bulding a "retro compiler", and I was interested in asking if BBC BASIC (86) had ever done this?.

(I also note BBC BASIC(86) and BB4W have a clearer status than MASM does.)

BB4W has a fabulous compiler but I've never heard of a code output program

Maybe a decent debugger would extract what you need, ollydbg is the one my dim and distant memory can recall

For learning 16 bit code I used Ketman

http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/simtelnet/msdos/asmutl/asmket15.zip

It's a huge learning curve
