Micro Men comedy drama on BBC4
« Thread started on: Oct 8th, 2009, 1:30pm »
This is a reminder that the comedy drama 'Micro Men', about the rivalry between Acorn and Sinclair in around 1981, is due for broadcast TODAY (Thursday 8th October) on BBC4 television at 21:00 BST.
According to Radio Times "It's a very funny story of invention through incompetence, but as those who recognise Jet Set Willy as high art will tell you, the stakes were oh so high".
For those of you in the UK (and others who can receive BBC4), interested in the history of the BBC Micro and BBC BASIC, this should be unmissable! Albeit that it's a comedy, what clips I've seen accurately reflect what I remember of the time.
Here is the cast:
Chris Curry - Martin Freeman Clive Sinclair - Alexander Armstrong Hermann Hauser - Edward Baker-Duly Steve Furber - Sam Phillips Roger Wilson - Stefan Butler Jim Westwood - Colin Michael Carmichael Nigel Searle - Derek Ridell
Richard.
P.S. Those wanting to watch on Freeview will have had to retune their receiver since last Wednesday, because of the reassignment of BBC4 to a different multiplex.
